This edition of Cocktail Friday is coming to you live from Skiathos , Greece. Yes folks, I am actually on holiday. The sky is blue, the sun is shining, the sea is sparkling invitingly in the distance and the cicadas are singing madly. Despite coming here every summer since I was a little kid, the joy of returning to our little house on Xanemos hill never fades. If anything the nostalgic pull gets more intense with each passing year, almost like a physical pang.
Signature Love Amber x Design. Handmade with amethyst purple colour gemstones and polished cherry Baltic amber beads. Each bead is rounded so that they lay comfortably against the skin. This allows maximum contact and gives added comfort to you. This is an elasticated item so if the bracelet breaks the beads will scatter. Please do not allow it to be pulled or get caught on anything.
Fruit availability can vary daily so please check the fruit report before you visit to make sure there is plenty to pick! Raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, boysenberries, youngberries, blueberries and loganberries are available throughout berry season depending on fruit availability and fruit maturity. The farm is open 7 days a week from am — pm from November through to end of January.
Spotted-wing drosophila has recently been found in many California counties infesting ripening cherry , raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and strawberry crops; it has also been observed attacking other soft-flesh fruit such as boysenberry, varieties of Japanese plums, plumcots, and nectarines. Adults and maggots closely resemble the common vinegar fly, Drosophila melanogaster, and other Drosophila species that primarily attack rotting or fermenting fruit. The spotted-wing drosophila, however, readily attacks undamaged fruit. Adults are small mm flies with red eyes and a pale brown thorax and abdomen with black stripes on the abdomen. The most distinguishable trait of the adult is that the males have a black spot towards the tip of each wing.
